So, as sleep (when I can get it) is one of my favorite past times, I was thrilled to attend an event this week with Johnson's, in celebration of their 3-step bedtime routine, & launch of their new globally-inspired lullaby. One point that came across loud & clear: the importance of sleep simply can't be over-stated, both for baby & parent. How amazing is the human body, that your child is literally growing in their sleep? That good sleep is critical for emotional development? That you are less likely to come down with the common cold if you're getting enough sleep? That mothers who have babies who learn to sleep by 11 months are happier and more active with their kids? The list of pro-sleep facts go on...
As such, Johnson's developed a 3-step routine, which is clinically proven to help babies fall asleep faster and stay asleep LONGER within one week. Here goes nothing...
STEP ONE: Warm Bath
My kids have always loved bath time, and the hardest part is simply calming down the excitement over bubbles, bath toys, etc. But warm water & moisture wash is soothing for babies, especially with a delicious scent to go along with it.
STEP TWO: Baby Massage
I used to love to give the girls baby massages, as they're a wonderful way to make your baby feel secure, loved and ready for sleep. Lotion that makes their skin extra soft isn't a bad thing, either!
STEP THREE: Quiet Time
Saving the best part for last... cuddles. Close contact between you and baby helps calm their breathing, relaxes them for bed and was always one of my favorite times of the day. Reading a book together and listening to a quiet lullaby are a perfect way to send baby off to sleep.
Speaking of which, Johnson's Sleep Experts studied sleep trends around the world, the sounds that are the most important (like heart beats, white noise, ocean sounds, forest animals, etc) and after much research, created the beautiful lullaby you'll find below. Here's your first chance to take a listen!

Now how about that, it's time for bed. Nighty night, folks!
